As part of a night of Global Sounds and Words at Sidney and Matilda
Witness seven artists from migrant and refugee backgrounds weave music, dance, spoken word and film to address themes of home, displacement and migration.
Developed during a three week residency, living and working as a team, the Green Room Collective's performance is a celebration of diversity and testament to the power of collaboration.
The performers include:

Héctor Manchego (spoken word, film & dramaturgy)
Hossein Mirzagholi (bass, vocals & composition)
Giuliano Modarelli (guitar & composition)
Deeptarka Mukhopadhyay (tabla, dholak & dhol & composition)
Preetha Narayanan (violin & composition)
Angela Hui Wai Nok (percussion & composition)

About Green Room Collective
Soumik Datta Arts (SDA) is a registered charity founded by Sir David Green KCMG and led by 2022 Aga Khan Music Award winner Soumik Datta, a British Indian musician and virtuoso sarod player.
With a particular focus on South Asian and migrant communities, they deliver transformative music and art projects that aim to unite, uplift and inspire a better informed and more empathetic society.
Theu have produced work for BBC Four, British Council, Southbank Centre, BBC Radio 3 and Royal Albert Hall, reaching over 5 million people via productions, films and albums.
