Creative Nature Workshop
Dysbiosis Collective
27 June | Time: 14:00 | Venue: Samuel Worth Chapel
ABOUT THE SHOW
Join us for a fun, relaxed afternoon exploring our connection to nature. Sheffield, known as the Steel City, boasts more trees per person than any city in Europe and is home to ancient woodlands and the Peak District National Park. Nature and industry are intertwined, with the city’s natural resources playing a key role in industrialisation.
With support from the Dysbiosis Collective, you’ll create a personal response to the theme and collaborate on a group installation, showcased at the Migration Matters Festival. No prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity!

Paul Burgess (he/him) Artistic Director, Daedalus Theatre Company - Designer, theatre-maker, and sustainability advocate, with extensive experience in curating, programming, and producing exhibitions and socially engaged projects.
"We combine artist development and community engagement to explore big ideas, set high standards of artistic excellence and create opportunities for the personal and creative growth of professionals and participants alike. I'm particularly interested in how we create physical and conceptual spaces that are safe, inspiring, egalitarian and open, and that foster communication, exchange and creativity. As a local gay man coming from many generations of East End Jews, I'm acutely aware of the richness and diversity of East London and the faultlines within it. Co-creation that crosses such lines is my passion and what Daedalus is all about." - Paul Burgess, Artistic Director
Tasnim Siddiqa Amin (she/they) Assistant Director, Daedalus Theatre Company – Artist, theatremaker, and curator, with experience producing for Counterpoints Arts - Platforma Festival, and Migration Matters Festival, and curating exhibitions and interdisciplinary art installations.
"Dysbiosis is an interdisciplinary and intersectional project which confronts the climate emergency in a way that is human, equitable and spiritual. It begins the discourse by addressing our fundamental connection with nature first and foremost and then gives space for creative discussion and expression to both reconnect and critique. It is a process which begins by starting locally, then connecting the dots globally. As a queer Bengali Muslim East Londoner I feel these dis/connections in my very identity. Dysbiosis flips the script on traditional Western approaches to climate change by radically placing community at the centre of the solution and the artistic process." - Tasnim Siddiqa Amin, Assistant Director
