Blurring the Edges

Dr Henry Staples, Lora Krasteva, Uzma Rani, University of Sheffield and Life at the Frontier Research Team

15 - 22 June | 11:00 - 16:00 | Venue: Soft Ground

A collaboration between Lora Krasteva, Uzma Rani, the University of Sheffield and Life at the Frontier research team.

Blurring the Edges is a mixed-media art installation exploring ‘social frontiers’ - sharp differences in the demographics of neighbouring communities. Through visual art, sound, documentary and augmented reality this installation looks at how these social frontiers affect life in Rotherham, reflecting on complex issues like migration, integration and life in cities.

The exhibition is the culmination of four years of interdisciplinary research with residents, decision-makers and community leaders in the Ferham, Masbrough and Kimberworth neighbourhoods of Rotherham.

This exhibition is organised in partnership with the University of Sheffield
