MMF'2024

For our 9th edition we could say with pride ‘We’re back’

With another astonishing 60 events in spaces indoors and outdoors, the festival truly shone with the help of Kenyan pop royalty, Sauti Sol, the Palestinian Women Football Team’s first captain and FIFA representative, Honey Thaljieh and the exceptionally talented Rinkoo Barpaga who delivered his show Made in Britain (India) about his life growing up with his deafness and overcoming racism.

There was the introduction of the very first Mini Migration Matters Festival curated by Stand and Be Counted & The Montgomery Theatre’s Youth Theatre of Sanctuary featuring The Orang Collectif with The Tree of Objects, Denada Dance Theatre’s The Bull and the Moon and Maya Productions’ show Super Chefs.

In a year of firsts, a partnership with Ark Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University saw the first climate focussed commissioned work at Rapid Response.

There were workshops, films, dancing and even pho and at an incredibly vibrant year that has seen the festival enter a new era of exciting and diverse programming.
